About the operator
This blog, “Salamander Optics Blog”, is run personally by Salamander (a pen name). It is a personal activity, entirely unrelated to any organization the operator belongs to and to any particular product. The content of the articles reflects the operator's own views.
Analytics
To improve the site, Cloudflare Web Analytics is used to see how the site is being used. This analytics does not use cookies, and does not collect or store information that identifies an individual reader (name, email address, precise location and the like). What is aggregated is only statistical information about overall trends across the site, such as per-page view counts and referrers.
Cookies and browser storage
Your browser's storage area (localStorage) is used to remember your display theme (light or dark). This is stored on your device only and is never transmitted anywhere. No cookies are used to track readers.
Email subscription
Email notification of new articles is being prepared. If and when it is offered, any email address you register will be used solely to send notifications of new articles, and will not be provided or sold to third parties. You will be able to unsubscribe at any time. An external email delivery service is expected to be used, in which case that service's privacy policy will also apply.
Advertising and affiliate links
This blog may in future take part in affiliate programmes, including the Amazon Associates Programme (third-party advertising). Where it does, the relevant places will clearly state that they are advertising or PR (in line with Japan's Act against Unjustifiable Premiums and Misleading Representations and its rules on stealth marketing). For any product or service featured, the operator will aim to state honestly, as a personal view, both what it offers and what is given up in exchange.
